Microsoft announced yet another Windows phone based device called Kin. Don’t get confused with Windows Phone 7. Windows Phone based != Windows Phone 7. While Windows Phone 7 is a multipurpose phone for a broad set of consumers, KIN is for a generation of people that live to be connected to their friends and their family. So you could say that KIN is a new Windows Phone experience created for a unique set of socially connected consumers.
There are two devices at launch - Kin 1 and Kin 2. The Kin 2 has a larger screen, keyboard, 8GB vs 5 in Kin1, 8 megapixels vs 5 and can shoot HD video. QWERTY physical keyboard in both. Both are mainly focused on photos and sharing. It has an inbuilt flash support which makes it more interesting.
KIN delivers breakthroughs throughout the product such as the Loop, the Spot, and the Studio:
Kin Loop - a 'hub'-like thing which shows real-time info on your phone from FB/twitter/your social network
Kin Spot - a sharing app into which you can drag (into a neat little drag circle) bookmarks, contacts, locations, etc and then share it.
KIN Studio –The KIN Studio is your KIN phone on the web. Everything you create on your phone – messages, contacts, photos, videos – is also stored in the cloud and accessible from any web browser.
